Free and Low-Cost Screenings
MedStar Harbor Hospital was awarded funds from a variety of sources to help families without health insurance to receive health care. MedStar Harbor is proud to offer these opportunities to the community.
One major grant is funded by the State of Maryland for the Baltimore City Breast and Cervical Cancer Program (BCCP) to pay for free mammograms, breast exams and pap smears for low income, underinsured or uninsured women in Baltimore City. BCCP funds are shared with MedStar Union Memorial Hospital so women can access care in two locations. This grant also is shared with MedStar Union Memorial and MedStar Good Samarian hospitals.
MedStar Harbor Hospital also offers free colonoscopies for eligible uninsured people in Baltimore City who are age 50 and older.
MedStar Harbor is grateful to have access to funding sources such as these to help provide cancer screenings for members of our community. We encourage those who are eligible to take advantage of the screenings available at MedStar Harbor Hospital. To learn more about eligibility, call 410-350-2563.
