Meet Dr. Jeffrey Mayer
Jeffrey Mayer, MD, CAQSM, is a board-certified fellowship trained primary care sports medicine physician, specializing in the non-operative treatment of musculoskeletal conditions, as well as medical issues that are specific to sports and exercise, in athletes and active patients of all ages and skill levels.
As part of the MedStar Harbor Sports Medicine team, Dr. Mayer serves as an assistant team physician for the Chesapeake Bayhawks, and is the team physician for Arundel, Chesapeake, Glen Burnie, Meade, North County and Northeast high schools.
During his fellowship in primary care sports medicine at the University of Maryland Medical System, he assisted the head team physician in the medical care of the Baltimore Ravens. Furthermore, he was an assistant team physician for the University of Maryland Terrapins, the UMBC Retrievers, and Coppin State University Eagles.
Dr. Mayer received his undergraduate degree from Boston College, and earned his medical degree at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. He completed a residency in Family Medicine at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, NC and was elected Chief Resident.
He also has board certifications from the American Board of Family Medicine, 2011 and Certificate of Added Qualification in Sports Medicine, 2012.
